Grand Prix events are the Mens/Womens LWT/HWT Open, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+ Miles.
Points awarded for Grand Prix events are 15 for a 1st place, 14 for a second place, through to 1 for 15th place. Ages are as at the finale meeting, to determine which Grand Prix event an individual qualifies for.
If a competitor changes age categories during the series, points acredited in a younger age category will be carried forward into the age category that applies at the final meeting. Hence, in the 2008 series, a competitor competing in the 30-39 Category at Evesham and Grimsby, placing 3rd and 4th who then turns 40 and competes in the 40-49 category at Newark finishing 1st would've earned a total of 40 points in the 40-49 Grand Prix Category.
Note: points can not be transferred between LWT and HWT events if a competitors weight varies between the three meetings.
Final Grand-Prix rankings can be found here. Grand-Prix medals are awarded to the first three in each category provided the competitor has competed in at least two of the meetings in the series.
